Synopsis

Created by Takeo Nagamatsu in 1930 as a pulp-fiction novel, Ogon Bat (translated as Golden Bat, sometimes called Phantoman in English and Fantasmagorico in Latin America) would later be adapted into manga by Osamu Tesuka, and make the transition to animated television in 1967, recreated by comic-book artist Daiji Kazumine. Producer TCJ was the same that did Gigantor.
A golden warrior wearing a cape and a scepter, Ogon Bat was a protector spirit from Atlantis reanimated by a scientist and his friends (specially the sweet Marie) from his tomb covered in hieroglyphics. His entry was heralded by a golden bat and a sinister laugh and he would put good use of his super powers to combat the evil forces of Dr. Zero.
