Based off a popular video game for the Xbox 360, Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~ takes place before the events of the video game, following Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo during their times together as Imperial Knights in a fantasy world of magic and monsters. Living in the lower quarter of the Imperial city of Zaphias, Yuri's adventure begins as the aque blastia -the source of water- breaks after the core has been stolen by a mage named Mr. Mordio.
