.hack//The Movie 3D to be Released in January

CyberConnect2, a Japanese video game developer, announced today that a 3D animated film called .hack//The Movie will open in Japanese theatres this January.

Set in 2024, children have lived their lives in a world that is connected by networks. A young girl, Sora Yuki, has no interest in games until her friends convince her to try the game called, "The World". When incidents begin to take place in the game, they also seem to occur in the real world. Hiroshi Matsuyama (.hack//Roots, .hack//Liminality) will be directing the film. Kazunori Ito will be writing the film with CyberConnect2 sai to animated it.
